Computer Won't Shut Off?:
Ever have a major freeze and control/alt/delete won't work? You should not pull the power plug. On most computers, you can hold in the power button for about 5-10 seconds and it will shut down. Wait 20 seconds, start up your computer and if your computer insists on running scandisk, let it do so. This procedure will check your hard drive for errors and fix them.
