Simulator Scheduling Intranet Application: This
was the main project for which I was hired. The locomotive simulation group
needed a scheduling system to organize usage of its test equiment. Users could
register an account, then have access to the list of simulators. They could
reserve blocks of time on particular systems. All reservations were logged, and
could only be overridden by the sim team's administrator. An automated
communication system was designed which sent e-mail notifications, and allowed
persons to send a request to another user to reschedule their time blocks.
-
Formal Technical Review Application: This
was a system for the Software Engineering Process Group (quality control
department). Its purpose was to record the events of formal technical reviews in
order to better track design issues, bugs, solutions, and various other data.

"The cost to have Kevin develop our website was
much less than we expected, and we are very satisfied with the quality
of our site. We have received positive comments from many people,
including some of our competitors. Kevin made what seemed like an
insurmountable task very easy for us, and we could certainly recommend
him without question."

Computer Won't Shut Off?:
Ever have a major freeze and control/alt/delete won't work? You should not pull
the power plug. On most computers, you can hold in the power button for about
5-10 seconds and it will shut down. Wait 20 seconds, start up your computer and if your computer insists on running scandisk, let it do so. This procedure will check your hard drive for errors and fix them.
